Open Enrollment is the yearly window to sign up for a Marketplace health plan or change the one you have. For Florida and other states that use HealthCare.gov, Open Enrollment for 2027 coverage runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. If you want coverage to start January 1, 2027, enroll by December 15, 2026. Dates are set by the federal government and can change, so confirm them at HealthCare.gov.
1. Gather your information
- Your best estimate of your household's 2027 income
- Names and dates of birth for everyone you're covering
- Your current plan's name and member ID, if you have one
- Any employer coverage offers for you or your family
2. List your doctors and prescriptions
Write down the doctors, specialists and hospitals you want to keep, plus every prescription you take. Networks and drug lists can change from year to year, even on the same plan.
3. Read your renewal notice
If you already have a plan, your insurer usually sends a notice explaining what's changing next year. Look for changes to your premium, deductible, network or covered drugs.
4. Update your application
Moved, married, had a baby or had a change in income? Update your Marketplace application so your eligibility for savings is based on current information.
5. Compare total costs, not just the premium
A low monthly premium can come with a high deductible. Compare the premium, deductible, copays and out-of-pocket maximum together, based on how you actually use care.
6. Don't count on automatic renewal
Letting your plan renew automatically is easy, but it may not still be the best fit. A quick review each year is worth the time.
